The First Post – Who? What? Why?

I have been thinking and debating about starting up a space such as this for quite some time.

Am I ready?

Who will actually read my pieces?

Is there any point in starting up something like this?

Eventually, the time came where I just bit the bullet, and said to myself, “why the hell not?!”, and here we are.

Welcome to Rawing Meg

The intention of this blog is to be a place where I share my experiences, opinions, and advice on eating disorders and other mental illnesses; as well as being a platform for conversation and deeper thinking within readers – you – and whoever you decide to share this with.

I aim to cover a variety of topics as this blog progresses which will include; eating disorders and other mental illnesses, my story, perfectionism and over-achieving, my advice to health professionals, my experiences within treatment types, my opinion on polarising issues, social media, breaking the stigma, and much more.

I chose the name ‘Rawing Meg’ as I want this to be a space of not holding back – what you read will be the truth from my perspective, the raw information and opinions of yours truly. Meg, on the other hand, was for more obvious reasons…

I want this to be a space where you do not feel like a recluse in your struggles, or the struggles of others. I want you to feel as though you have a place to come to and know that you always have an open ear found on the other end of the words you are reading. I also want this to be something that others can engage with – so comment, ask me questions, reach out, this blog is all about helping you.

So once again, welcome to Rawing Meg, I’m not sure where this journey will take me, but I’m hapy to have you along for the ride.
